PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate coating removing operation for an end part of a coated optical fiber. SOLUTION: The coating removing device 21 consists of a fiber fixation part 22 and a coating removing device main body part 24 having a coating removal part 37, and the fiber fixation part 22 is fixed to the front end of a guide shaft 23 which is slidably in the front-rear direction (right-left direction in the figure). The coating removing device main body part 24 is in a pistol shape which has a grip part 36 and a trigger 44, and its gun barrel corresponding part is the coating removal part 37. The coating removing part 37 consists of a grip base part 38 and a grip lid part 40 and has a latch 52 which locks the coated optical fiber 2 in a gripped state by closing the grip lid part 40. When the trigger 44 is pulled, an internal driving mechanism 45 extrudes a guide shaft 23 forward and drives it, and the fiber fixation part 22 which is united with it leaves the coating removing device main body part 24, so that the coating 2a is removed with blades 41 and 42. |
