PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and accurate self-diagnosis state of an operation of a mobile object sensor employing a CCD video camera by using a diagnostic image pattern, and to recognize an error by recording the time and location of an error occurrence into a memory as history data, when an error is detected out through the self-diagnosis. SOLUTION: A CCD video camera 3 is contained in a camera container case 1 provided with an image pickup window, a self-diagnosis standard pattern generator 4 is provided in the inside of the case 1 for closing the window with a liquid crystal shutter 2 in the case of diagnosis, a standard pattern generated by the self-diagnosis standard pattern generator 4 photographed by the CCD video camera 3 is compared with a reference pattern image for diagnosis stored in advance to diagnose the state of the CCD video camera 3. |
