PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method capable of forming a uniform thin layer of developer over a long period without mechanically regulating a developer layer, and of stably obtaining an excellent image without the sticking of carriers by using the thin developer layer and an image forming device for this method. SOLUTION: An image forming method is provided with processes of forming a latent image on a latent image carrier and developing an electrostatic latent image on an electrostatic latent image carrier by using the developer layer on a developer carrier. In the process of developing the electrostatic latent image, a developer carrier 11 which is provided with plural magnetic poles at intervals of 25 μm-250 μm to face the latent image carrier is used and the thin layer of the developer consisting of magnetic-material-dispersed carriers having magnetic material fine grains dispersed in a binding resin and toner is formed on the developer carrier, to attain noncontact development. It is preferable that the magnetic-material-dispersed carriers are globular ones whose electric resistance is >=10<10> Ω.m and average grain size is 20-100 μm. |
