摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and inexpensive device easy to adjust an optical system also by together providing a reflection area reflecting laser light and a light receiving area detecting an optical signal in an optical semiconductor element. SOLUTION: A high resistance N type area 31 is epitaxial grown on a low resistance N type semiconductor substrate 32, and P type low resistance areas 21, 22 are formed to be made the light receiving areas. The take-out electrodes 11, 12 of the light receiving areas are formed by aluminum, and the reflection area 1 of light is separatively arranged by the side of the light receiving areas 21, 22 to be formed. This optical semiconductor element together having the reflection area and light receiving area is arranged tilting by 45 deg. for a detection object, and the laser light emitted parallel to the detection object is made to be reflected by the reflection area 1, and its direction is 90 deg. converted to be converged by a condenser lens, and return light from the detection object is emitted to the light receiving areas 21, 22. Thus, an inexpensive optical pickup device with the number of less parts and capable of easily performing optical adjustment while detecting the light with a photodetector is provided.
