ANTIVIRAL ACTIVE PHARMACEUTICAL EMULSION OF OIL IN WATER CONTAINING ACYCLOVIR OR ITS SALT OR ESTER

Antiviral active pharmaceutical emulsion of oil in watercontaining 9-/(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl/guanine (acyclovir) or itssalt or ester as active ingredient in continuous water phase, theindicated phase as a supplement to the indicated active ingredientand the dispersed oil phase containing organic solvent mixing withwater where one polyhydrogen alcohol can form its component. Theemulsion contains, in wt.%: from 1 to 10 acyclovir or its saltor ester, from 20 to 50 organic solvent containing from 5 to 50glzcerol formal and from 0 to 29 polyhydrogen alcohol and from 20to 40 water, the above percentages being based on the total weightof the formulation. Propyleneglycol can be used as polyhydrogenalcohol and the emulsion can be produced in the form of a creamwhere the oil phase includes white vaseline, liquid paraffin(aaraffin oil), glycerolmonostearate and stearic acid.
