The invention relates to a calibration plate for cooling ofthermoplastic sheeting material and to a method for the productionof such material. By the plate the speed of feeding the materialis greatly increased and the whole production processes is speededup due to the direct contact between the cooling medium and thesheet surface. The calibration plate (12) includes a multiplicityof passage grooves (18) for cooling fluid where at least part oreach of them is open to its working surface. The vacuum grooves(16) draw the vacuum and maintain the sheet which is being cooledin close contact with plate (12) during the cooling. Thus thecooling fluid, in this case cooling water, gets in direct contactwith the sheet surface, lubricates it and removes the friction.7 claims, 3 figures |
