PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device for an electrophotographic device capable of removing residual toner on a toner carrier including toner electrified to have a reverse polarity which is generated at the time of transferring the toner to a recording medium such as paper. SOLUTION: The residual toner including the toner electrified to have the reverse polarity on the toner carrier is removed by impressing following impressed voltage on a conductive brush 2; the impressed voltage is obtained by superposing DC voltage whose potential difference from the impressed voltage on a toner image carrier is >=50 V and <=100 V and AC voltage whose peak-to- peak value is >=1.2 kV and <=2.0 kV and is set so that the frequency may be equal to or above the circumferential speed(mm/sec) of the toner image carrier/ nip width(mm) between the conductive brush 2 and the toner image carrier}×10 and equal to or under the circumferential speed(mm/sec) of the toner image carrier/ nip width(mm) between the conductive brush 2 and the toner image carrier}×20.
