PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade the troublesomeness of fetching the image of a prescription by reading the image of the prescription as soon as the prescription of a patient is received and storing the read image of the prescription. SOLUTION: When the patient approaches a prescription receiving machine 1, a human body detection sensor 23 detects it and a message for urging the insertion of the prescription is displayed on a display panel 22. Then, when the patient inserts the prescription to a prescription insertion port 24, a prescription detection sensor 30 detects it, a carrying roller 29 is driven, the prescription is pulled to the inside along a carrying path 27 and a reception identification number is printed on the corner of the prescription by a reception identification number printer 32. Thereafter, the image of the entire prescription is read by an image scanner 33 and stored in a storage device 37. Then, the image stored in the storage device 37 is transmitted through a modem 39 to a host computer 18. |
