The roller drives wheels being machined. The rollers are axially and radially adjustable. Their profile sectors have axial linear bearer zones and rounded transition zones. The profile sector (6) of the rollers in the region of the bearer zones (4, 6) between the roller and the wheel profile have exclusively non-linear geometry elements which are completely concave.
