The engine has an annular chamber (101) between rotor (104) and external stator (103). Four crescent-shaped rotors (102) are synchronised with the main rotor and run partly in circular recesses in the stator wall and partly in the annular chamber. These rotors are positioned so as the raised part of the rotor passes their inner surface completes the curvature of the inside of the rotor.
