PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device which makes a copy having a uniform image density from an image having low image density. SOLUTION: When making a reduced copy, the device widens at least the slit-width W of at least either a first slit situated near an illuminating lamp 32 or a second slit 91 situated near a photoreceptor drum 50. This prevents, in the case of the copying of a low-image-density halftone image, the intensity of light generated by the illumination lamp 32 turned on under phase control from varying undesirably with the result that a streaklike density irregularity occurs in synchronization with a change in the quantity of light from the illumination lamp 32 which is caused by the frequency of a commercial power source used for tuning on the illumination lamp 32. |
