Uses a standard electrically erasable programmable ROM, EEPROM, as safeguard memory. A safeguard memory (7) is provided, to which data can be written or erased. This memory (7) has a pre-defined number of sectors (S1-S4) in each of which can be recorded a defined number of data blocks (B1 - Bp). The data to be protected is recorded in the safeguard memory (7) by carrying out the following operations: - record the data blocks by filling the sectors (S1-S4) of the safeguard memory (7), one after the other; - safeguard each recorded data block (B1-Bp); and - when the safeguard memory (7) is entirely filled, iteratively, erase all the recorded data in a determined sector of the memory (7) and continue to record data in this sector, whose original data has been erased. |
