PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a color filter having high colormetric purity of picture elements, free from the escape of light at the side part and excellent in color quality. SOLUTION: When a color filter with patternwise formed pixels having at least two colors is produced by a laser light radiation method usign colored compsns. each contg. a pigment, a dispersant, a binder and a solvent, laser light is radiated after the radiation energy density E of the laser light is regulated so as to satisfy relation represented by the formula E0 <=E<=10E0 (where E0 is the min. energy density at which a colored coating film is evaporated) and pixels satisfying relation represented by the formula 0.9<=a/b<=1.0 [where (a) is the width of the upper end of a section of each of the pixels and (b) is the width on the substrate side] are patternwise formed. |
