PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transmission of noise to a commercial power source via a line. SOLUTION: In an electrodeless fluorescent lamp, the inner surface of a discharge container 1 is coated with a transparent conductive film 2, onto which a phosphor 3 is applied. The fluorescent lamp comprises a columnar projection 4 extending inward from a part of the discharge container 1, an iron core 16 inside the projection 4, an exciting coil 6 in the iron core 16, a cover 10 for closing the lower portion of the discharge container 1, a metallic housing 11 connected to the cover 10, an insulating case 12 covering the metallic housing 11, and an electric power supply port 8 formed at the insulating case 12. A wiring substrate 17 for a lighting circuit 7 is supported by the metallic housing 11. A high frequency oscillation circuit 25 for the lighting circuit 7 is mounted on the wiring substrate 17, and is positioned inside a space defined between the cover 10 and the metallic housing 11. |
