The invention refers to a material for the insulation of glass sheets on packaging for their transportation, which consists of a homogeneous, uniform layer of biodegradable powder, composed of micronised cellulose particles, with a particle thickness of 0.3 mm, or of wood powder with a particle diameter of 0.14-0.4 mm. The powder is electrodeposited using already existing equipment, on the vertical surface of the glass sheet, which behaves as an electrode. High quality, environment-friendly packaging of glass sheets is achieved, which can be safely transported.
