PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the line current introduced to a motor, while the motor is being started. SOLUTION: A starter circuit 10 is provided with a first bidirectional switch S1 , which is controlled so as to be circulated between an opened position and a closed position and through which a line current from a power source 16 can be supplied to a motor and a pair of combined switch-diode bodies S2 and D1 and S3 and D2 which are electrically constituted for guiding the current to the motor when the switch S1 is opened. The actuation of the combined bodies S2 and D1 and S3 and D2 is controlled by means of an ECU 18, based on the alternating polarity of the current supplied to the motor. The resulting current conversion minimizes the current which is introduced to the motor, while the motor is being started and can make product of an input VA product with an output VA of the motor equal to each other. The introduced starting current is reduced from the line current in proportion to the duty cycle of the switch S1 . |
