<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the loss of added information and to attain a high quality image output by interpolating image data received synchronously with a proscribed clock and adding prescribed information to a cetrain bits of the interpolated image data. SOLUTION: An image signal at a smoothing circuit 104, in which the resolution is converted in response to a 400/800 line switching signal SEN of an image area separate circuit 107, and as 16-bit image data in which odd numbered pixels are separated in lower-order 8 bits and even numbered pixels in higher- order 8 bits are outputted. The lower-order 8 bits are added to an add-on circuit 112, in which device information is added to the lower-order 8 bits. Then a conversion circuit 113 rearrange the lower-order 8 bits into odd numbered pixels and the higher-order 8 bits into even numbered pixels outputted via a gamma coercion circuit 105 to convent the image data into data in 800 dpi by using a clock, whose frequency is equivalent to twice 400 dpi and the converted data are outputted. Then, a selector 114 selects either of the image data with 400/800 dpi and outputs the selected data depending on the output SEN of an image separate circuit 107.</p> |
