摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the cost reduction and to shorten the working time by installing a one-dimensional sensor obliquely to the axis of an optical fiber in an image forming plane near the tip of the optical fiber and performing signal processing. SOLUTION: A line sensor (one-dimensional sensor) 30 is used as an image sensor, installed obliquely to the real image of an optical fiber 12 in the xy plane on which the real image of the optical fiber 12 is formed by means of an image pickup optical system and image processing is performed. The line sensor 30 is a sensor formed by arranging plural numbers of single photosensors such as a photodiode and measuring the intensity distribution of one-dimensional light beam and mainly and conventionally used as a photosensor of FAX, etc. When the line sensor is installed obliquely to the real image of an optical fiber 12 in the image forming plane of the optical fiber 12, the pieces of image processing of setting of gap and calculation of axial deviation are simultaneously performed.
