The computer-generated water colour painting is obtained by scanning a photograph uses a computer scanner, to provide a corresponding black-and-white computer image which can be modified as required. The modified image is printed onto water colour paper and can then be coloured using water colour paints. The black-and-white computer image may be printed out onto standard paper, to allow it to be modified using a lead pencil and a white erasure solution. The modified computer image is then re-scanned and entered into the computer.
