Impact beam for comminuting mill

The impact beam has a body (11) with at least one longitudinal chamber (24) which contains a pretensioning element (32). The element can be a rod which is tensioned between its ends (32,36) which are fastened to the aligned ends of the beam body. The beam body is held under a set tension (Fd). the chamber extends centrally of the beam body. The tensioning rod can alternatively be a tube.
