The instrument is held in a holder (34) on the guide (10) fixable to a fixed point (F) and can turn by over 90 and preferably 360 degrees on at least one articulated axle (A). The holder can be displaced in three co-ordinate directions (x,y,z). The holder can swivel on a second articulated axis intersecting the first axis. The guide has an operating head (12) movable on a carriage (30).
