Photosynthesis bio-reactor for the micro-organism production

A bio-reactor (1) provides an environment in which a selected strain of micro-organisms is cultivated, and consists of series of transparent standing tubes (2) in which the biomass is held in an aqueous suspension which may move through the tubes (2). The novelty is that: (a) the bio-reactor (1) has one of more reactor modules (3); (b) the tubes (2) in each module (3) are formed as a number of U-shaped shanks, linked at each end (4); (c) the reactor element shanks (4) are connected to a reactor head (5) in which the biomass accumulates; (d) the lower sector of each reactor element (4) has means (6) by which the biomass suspension can be transported downwards through the curved lower pipe section, to rise through the other shank.
