The flow inlet section (28) of the valve is located in the spool housing (7) so that there is a free axial end portion (32) of the spool (8) in this section. At least one connecting channel (33) runs inside the spool and on one side opens outs in the free end portion of the spool. On the other side, the channel opens out in an outlet flow region (45) on the outer circumference (35) of the spool. The outlet flow region, in at least one control position of the spool, lies in one working section (24) of the spool.
