The heat pump uses an evaporator (1), a compressor (6), a condenser (3) and a throttle point (8), the evaporator thermically coupled to a solar collector circuit (2) and the condenser thermically coupled to a heating load circuit (4). The compressor is bridged by a bypass line (7) which incorporates a non-return valve (5), responding to an evaporator pressure which is greater than the condenser pressure.
