The control unit has a sensor switch (10) registering the state of an indicator element (18) and which, depending upon this state, operates a switching element (22,24) connected to a battery (19). A time delay switch (30) connected to the switching element, upon closing of it, switches through to the consumer a battery voltage connected across it. One sensor element (12,14,15,17) of the sensor switch is connected between the indicator element and an electric switch (16) connected to the battery.
