Stopper for bottles, pipes and containers comprises silicone rubber of Shore A hardness 30-70 and rebound elasticity 50-80. Also claimed is the manufacture of the above stopper by pressing unvulcanised silicone rubber and peroxide catalyst to a diameter 2-10% larger than the opening to be sealed, vulcanising at above 100 deg C and cooling.
