Partially or totally blocked poly:isocyanate, useful in powder paint production

A partially- or totally-blocked polyisocyanate (I) contains norbornane-diisocyanate or random mixtures of norbornane-diisocyanate and aliphatic and/or (cyclo)aliphatic polyisocyanates, whose isocyanate groups are blocked such that 0.5-1.2 mol. blocking agent are added per NCO equivalent. Also claimed are: (i) a process for the preparation of (I) by addition of 0.5-1.2 moles of blocking agent per NCO equivalent are specific temperature; and (ii) a transparent or pigmented powder paint containing (I) in combination with polymers having functional groups which react with isocyanate groups.
