The invention relates to a tobacco rod suction conveyor for a cigarette rod making machine, comprising an air permeable conveyor belt. The aim of the invention is to adapt such a conveyor belt to the improved performance of the machine. This is achieved by making the conveyor belt (8) from high temperature resistant polyaryletherketons. In this way, the mechanical properties of the conveyor belt are significantly improved and its operating life is significantly increased.
