Benzene-1,3-disulphonamide derivs. of formula (I) and their acid-addn. salts: (where R is lower alkyl; R1 is H or a =8C alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl gp. opt. interrupted by O, S, SO2 or N or substd. by OH; R2 is a 3-8C alkyl, cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl gp. opt. interrupted by O, S or N or substd. by OH, or an aryl, aralkyl or heteroaralkyl gp. opt. substd. in the ring by lower alkyl, alkoxy and/or halogen and/or interrupted in the aliphatic part by O, S, SO, SO2 or N; R3 is H or lower alkyl; R4 is H, allyl, a lower alkyl gp. opt. interrupted by O, S, SO, SO2 or N, a =8C cycloalkyl or cycloalkylalkyl gp., an aralkyl gp. opt. mono- or disubstd. in the ring by halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, NH2 or mono- or dialkylamino, or a 2-furylmethyl, 2-tetrahydrofurylmethyl or pyridylmethyl gp.; R1 and R2 can also be joined together via a C-C bond or an O, S or N atom, and NR3R4 can also be pyrrolidino, piperidino, hexamethylenimino, morpholino or 4-alkyl-1-piperazinyl), are hypotensive agents with longer-lasting activity, and often a lower therapeutic dose, than the cpds. described in DT 2239846; they also have weak coronary dilatory and positive inotropic activity. |
