PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance are driving force of an arc runner. SOLUTION: An arc runner 4 of a magnetic plate, provided on a lower face of an upper leg part 2a of a U-shaped fixing contact base 2 of a fixed contact 1, is formed into U-shape, having a side plate 4b at the left and right. An arc 11 generated on a fixed contact 3 during current interrupt moves immediately to a side plate 4b which is higher than the fixed contact 3, is driven on an opposite side to the first contact 3 by means of a magnetic driving force F acting on the arc 11 based on a magnetic fluxϕof a current iA flowing through the upper leg part 2a, runs an edge of the side plate 4b, enters a de-arc grid at its tip end, and is de-arced.
