A new alkenyloxy group-containing organosilicon compound has units of formula AaRbSiXcO4-(a+b+c)/2 (I), where R = 1-18C hydrocarbon; X = Cl or OR<1>; R<1> = 1-8C alkyl optionally substituted by ether oxygen; a = 0 or 1; b, c = 0-3; a+b+c <= 4; A = group of formula (i); R<2> = H or CH3; R<3>, R<4> = 1-6C alkylene; z = 0 or 1-12; and x, y = 0 or 1; provided that there is at least one A. Also claimed is the preparation of the above compound by adding a compound of formula (II) to an organosilicon compound with Si-bonded H atom(s) in the presence of a catalyst giving multiple aliphatic bonds.
