Disclosed is an electronic switching and control device (1) which has a housing (2) with an integrated connector (7) and a printed circuit board (17) fitted to the housing. A coating (12) is provided inside the housing on the side of the connector as a screen against electromagnetic radiation. A metallic, structured layer placed opposite the connector on the side of the housing cover (3) is joined to the connector (7) by through-hole plates (14) and joined to the printed circuit board (17) by through-hole plates (16). The layer (13) protects the switching and control device (1) from external electric or electromagnetic influences. The switching and steering device (1) is designed for use in motor vehicles.
