[Also in Group XXIV] In a machine-tool, a work-support 2 is indexed by a cam 7 having a sinusoidal controlgroove portion 71a engaging pins 13 on a member connected to the support, the breadth of a cylindrical body portion 72 of the cam being equal to the distance between the pins. The workpieces are moved towards drilling or tapping tools 3, 4, by a cam 15 engaged by a lever 20 on which rest pins 24. Movement of the pins 24 raises a disc 22, causing resilientlymounted pins 31 to force the workpieces upwardly against stops 27, 28, so that they are positioned for a cutting operation. The cam 71a, 72, rotates continuously, the portion outside the ends of the groove allowing for a dwell. |
