The present invention relates to a new thermodynamically stable modification of 1-(4-carbazolyloxy)-3-Ä2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)ethylaminoÜ-2-propanole (Carvedilol), pharmacologically acceptable salts, or optically active forms thereof, processes for the preparation, and pharmaceutical compositions containing it.
