<p>The invention is directed to methods for the quality control of shellfish and other food products using electrical changes, i.e, impedance, capacitance, conductance and inductance, etc., as indices of susceptibility. The product to be subjected to quality control may be exposed to radiation. The irradiated product or sample is analyzed for metabolic activity of foodborne contaminants and displayed as a two- or three-dimensional model. The figure is an electrical circuit diagram of the apparatus of the invention.</p> |
