<p>PURPOSE: To reduce a shock at the time of a drive, rarely cause the trouble of elbows, and improve durability and repulsion by forming a golf wood club head with a metallic head main body having a hollow section and a foam metal arranged in the hollow section, and integrally connecting them. CONSTITUTION: This golf wood club head is constituted of a metallic head main body 2 having a hollow section 2a and a foam metal arranged in the hollow section 2a. The head main body 2 is assembled with an upper skin section 22 and a bottom section 23, a face section 21 is constituted of a face insert made of a member different from that of the upper skin section 22 and the bottom section 23, and the face insert 21 is integrally fixed to the head main body 2. The foam metal is a porous body dispersed with bubbles into a cell shape, and it is a lightweight metal composite material excellent in lightweight property and shock absorbing property. Grains of a hydride or the like are added and mixed as a foaming agent to a molten metal having high viscosity, and the generated gas is retained in the molten metal to manufacture the face insert 21.</p> |
