PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shaped gasket which is applicable not only when variations in joint width are within a predetermined range but also when variations in joint width exceed the predetermined range and the joint width is small. SOLUTION: A shaped gasket 10 has grooves 24 formed on both sides of the junctions between its first sealing lip part 18, second sealing lip part 20, and bridge part 22, and rupturing parts 26 decreased in rigidity are thereby formed at the junctions. Therefore, if variations in joint width are within a predetermined range, the shaped gasket 10 is fitted into the joint with the bridge parts 22 left intact; if variations in the joint width exceed the predetermined range and the joint width is small, the bridge parts 22 are ruptured along the rupturing parts 26 and chipped. Thus, the shaped gasket 10 can be fitted even into a narrow joint. |
