摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pile formation system designed to enable the position of the weave port for a woven fabric to be freely switched between fast pick position and loose pick position every turn of a loom during weaving operation. SOLUTION: In a pile loom designed to form piles through shifting the position of the weave port for a woven fabric longitudinally to alter the relative distance between the beating position for a reed and the position of the weave port, this pile formation system is made up of a terry motion member swinging in such a direction as to alter the relative distance between the beating position and the weave port position, a drive mechanism 30 generating one reciprocating swing motion in one revolution of the main shaft 28 of the loom, transmission mechanism 26, 37, 41, 46 each transmitting the swing motion of the drive mechanism 30 to the terry motion member and dispose the weave port through switching the weave port position between the pick position and loose pick position, change-over mechanisms 38, 39 each putting the connection between the drive mechanism 30 and the transmission mechanisms 26, 37, 41, 46 to on/off mode, and a change-over mechanism control means controlling the on/off operation for the change-over mechanisms 38, 39.
