摘要 An endoprosthesis for implantation in vessels of the human or animal body is shaped as a tubular latticework of filaments with the form of a helical line, which form two interwoven groups with the opposite sense of rotation, which consist in each case of several filaments twisted against each other. Each filament has a composite material (2) with continuous reinforcement fibers (4) embedded in support (3) made of a high-strength thermoplastic, preferably polyetherether ketone (PEEK) or polyethersulfone (PS), the said fibers being made of high-strength inorganic material, preferably carbon, glass, or Kevlar. The composite material (2) can be surrounded by a shell (5), which consists preferably of material corresponding to the support (3), but may contain admixtures, e.g., medications. For the uptake of medications or other active ingredients the shell (5) can be fashioned as porous. A contrast medium can be added to the shell or support. For the fabrication of the composite material (2), the reinforcement fibers (4) are sprinkled with the support in powder form and pulled through a heated die, i.e., pultruded. The shell (5) can then be applied in a similar way to the composite material (2), whereby a granular soluble material such as salt, which can then be washed out, can be added to the shell material to produce a porous structure.
