摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the burying situation into slug of arc in the refining period of an arc fusion furnace. SOLUTION: To detect the vibration which is generated from the arc 1 being a heat source and is transmitted to a furnace shell 6, a vibration sensor 8 is attached to the furnace shell 6 or a furnace cover 7, and the detection signal of this vibration sensor 8 is converted into a measurement vibration level by measuring means 9 and 10, and the burying situation into slug of arc is evaluated by the device 12 for evaluating the low-range change of this measurement vibration level. Thus, the burying situation into slug of arc in refining period can be grasped precisely, and it becomes possible to cover arc with slug at all times, and the useless power in refining period can be suppressed, and the original unit of power can be reduced, and also the damage of a wall face refractory can be reduced.</p>
