PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new thermally stable derivative having a specific amino acid sequence, not exhibiting a side effect, selectively acting on tumor cells, etc., and useful as an agent for treating AIDS, rheumatics, etc., and as a carcinostatic agent, etc. SOLUTION: A new apoptosis-inducing peptide comprising 5-20 amino acids containing an amino acid sequence of the formula, or the derivative of the peptide. The peptide or its derivative does not exhibit a side effect, is thermally stable, selectively acts on tumor cells, and is useful as an apoptosis-inducing agent effective as a medicine, especially an agent for treating AIDS, rheumatics, etc., or a carcinostatic agent, a metastasis inhibitor, etc. The peptide is obtained by successively condensing amino acid blocks and extending the peptide chain by a peptide solid phase synthetic method using a solid phase resin for synthesizing the peptide. Therein, the amino acid block is obtained by synthesizing a peptide chain from reactive group-protected amino acids, cutting off the peptide chain from the resin, and subsequently removing protecting groups from the peptide chain.
|
