BALANCING DEVICE FOR DAMPER OF LOCKUP CLUTCH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balancing device for a damper of a lockup clutch of torque converter. SOLUTION: A weight 40 is formed by folding a thin plate into an angle shape consisting of an inserting piece 41 located in the center and straddling parts 42 on both sides. A stepped part 23A is formed in a retainer plate 23 fixed to a piston 22 by rivet 26, and the inserting piece 41 is inserted between the stepped part 23A and piston 22 so that installation is accomplished. The straddling parts 42 are contacted with the two sides of the stepped part 23A and put in tight attachment to the retainer plate. The inserting piece 41 is furnished with a dowel 44 to be fitted in a hole 23C provided in the retainer plate 23.
