Granular product (G) leaving the upper conveyor belt (2) falls into the collector funnel (20). A deflector with a flat base and sloping sides hangs vertically on hinges (11) from a horizontal carriage (12) mounted on rails (13). It moves at right angles across the product stream to divert a sample onto the second band (3).
