<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject carrier capable of controlling the movement of microorganisms in a treating tank with magnetic powder on a waste water treatment and capable of immobilizing the microorganisms in a large amount by immobilizing a superparamagnetic material and microorganisms with polyacrylamide gel. SOLUTION: This magnetic carrier is obtained by flowing an aqueous solution containing (A) acrylamide, a gelation-accelerating agent, sodium alginate and a superparamagnetic material between the inner and outer pipes of a double pipe nozzle, flowing (B) the suspension of microorganisms in the inner pipe to form liquid drops comprising the aqueous solution A and the suspension B at the exit of the double pipe nozzle, and subsequently dropping the liquid drops in (C) an aqueous solution containing calcium formate.</p> |
