PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a light-weight molding having excellent surface external appearance, strength and rigidity by using specific fiber-containing thermoplastic resin pellet having a long fiber length without necessity of using a large quantity of foaming agent. SOLUTION: A fiber-containing thermoplastic resin pellet (A) having a length of fiber in the pellet of 2 to 100 mm or a mixture of the pellet (A) and thermoplastic resin is used as molding material. The material containing 5 to 80 wt.% of fiber content is melt kneaded, and the melted resin is injected in a mold closed so as to become smaller volume than a mold volume equivalent to a final molding. After or before completing the injection of the resin, to manufacture the fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resin light-weight molding by opening the mold to a volume of the final molding, it is molded in the mold at temperature in such a manner that a part formed with an end of the final molding is higher temperature than the other part. |
