摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce the man-hours to be required for measurement, and to eliminate the unnatural posture at the time of measurement by forming a robot for measuring thickness of bottom plate of tank of a polishing device and a measuring device. SOLUTION: A robot 1 for measuring thickness of bottom plate of tank is formed of a polishing device 2 and a measuring device 3. The polishing device 2 is formed of a XY scanning mechanism 11, a polishing mechanism 21 and a control recording mechanism 31. At this stage, X and Y mean directions crossing each other. Namely, a direction A means a tangent direction of a welding line of a side plate on a surface in parallel with a bottom plate surface, and an axis X means an X-directional axis. A direction Y means a direction crossing the direction X on a surface in parallel with the bottom plate surface, and an axis Y means a Y-directional axis. The measuring device 3 is formed of the XY scanning mechanism 11, a measuring mechanism 41 and a control recording mechanism 51.
