PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably prohibit the production of the toxin of pathogenic colibacillus and to safely sterilize the pathogenic colibacillus by including a stage for adding lactic acid bacteria and antibiotic to a region contaminated with the pathogenic colibacillus. SOLUTION: The method for inhibiting the production of the toxin of the pathogenic colibacillus includes the stage for adding Clostridium butyricum FERM P-14285 as the lactic acid bacteria, then phosphomycin as the antibiotic to a medium contg. the pathogenic colibacillus EHEC SU 5053 (O 157) which is one kind of the intestinal hemorrhagic colibacillus and E. coli ATCC 25922 as the human intra-intestinal tract indigenous colibacillus. The Clostridium butyricum FERM P-14285 and the phosmycin are added to the medium contg. the human intra-intestinal tract indigenous colibacillus E. coli ATCC 25922 and the pathogenic colibacillus EHEC SU 5053 (O 157) in such a manner, by which the remarkable inhibition of the production of the vertotoxin of the pathogenic colibacillus by their interaction and the safe sterilization of the pathogenic colibacillus by the phosmycin are made possible.
