PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which is capable of starting a motor for rotating a dehydration tank, positively and quietly and increasing the number of rotation promptly to a target number of rotation level to stabilize it, regardless of the volume of laundry in the dehydration tank. SOLUTION: A motor 21 is driven by an inverter circuit 41 equipped with a bootstrap-type power supply circuit. When the motor 21 which is not started is energized for a specified time but still does not rotate, the motor is kept energized until it starts rotating within the limits of a specified time. Nevertheless, when the motor still does not rotate, it is interposed that the starting of the motor fails and the effort to start it is resumed. When the number of rotation of the motor after the start is below a specified number of rotation level, it is interposed that the motor is locked and is again restarted after the stoppage of the motor. |
