PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-pressure double layer glass panel which has excellent adiabatic performance and is capable of maintaining longterm durability and a process for manufacturing this panel. SOLUTION: A sealing material comprises first sealing materials 4, 5 consisting of a low melting solder alloy having a m.p. below 200 deg.C and a second sealing material 7 mainly consisting of an org. high-polymer material disposed at the outer peripheral edge of the first sealing material. The process for manufacture consists in previously preparing two sheets of sheet glass fused with the low melting solder all over the entire peripheral of the respective peripheral end edges, disposing a spacer on the one sheet glass, disposing the second sealing material consisting of the highpolymer material in this state at the edges outer than the low melting solder alloy in such a manner that at least part thereof is made to remain as an opening, superposing the other sheet glass thereon, introducing the sheet glass into a reduced pressure chamber and reducing the space part to a prescribed pressure, the heat treating the entire peripheral part of the laminate and bonding two sheets of the sheet glass by the first and second sealing materials. |
