PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unexpected leak of ink when a used-up ink cartridge is detached, by providing an ink cartridge engageable with an ink introduction part having a negative pressure generation means with an ink leak prevention means. SOLUTION: An ink in an ink-storing part 110 of an ink cartridge 100 is smoothly discharged onto a recording medium from a nozzle 164 through a negative pressure generation means. The air of an equal volume corresponding to the amount of consumed ink is sent in an air chamber 141 from a vent hole 112, and a bellows part 130 is gradually extended by a weight of a flat plate 140. Accordingly, a liquid level of ink is always kept in touch with the flat plate 140 not to generate air bubbles. The ink is smoothly supplied stably. When the ink cartridge 100 is to be exchanged after the ink is completely consumed, an operator picks up the ink cartridge 100 with fingers and pulls a plug 150 from a hollow needle 166. |
